In the 1930s… there was a bus. A bus that ran from Leeds, down through Morley Bottoms and up to the town centre.
The Bus was a deep Antwerp Blue in colour, with its name on the side emblazoned in gold… This was a bold bus, a bus on which to be seen… as far as buses go… this bus was a double decker*….
The name of the bus was…. The Prospect.
The bus has long since been retired, but The Prospect is still the place to be seen.
* The double decker bus wasn’t introduced to the UK until 1947… I was speaking metaphorically for emphasis .
